I’m Kat (she/her) a neurodivergent and queer therapeutic counsellor who specialises in working with neurodivergent adults and teens.

my professional experience

At Same Page, I blend a high level of professional and lived experience to deliver a truly specialist service to my clients.

I don’t expect you to take me at my word on this – here's some more information about my experience and qualifications:

my vibes and personality

Asking for help is scary and so it is natural to want to know a little more about me before getting started.

A woman with wavy, shoulder-length hair, glasses, and tattoos, smiling as she looks at a notebook full of handwritten notes, with sunlight streaming in through a window behind her.

I enjoy a lot of the same things most people do: a sunny day, a cuddle with my cats, a walk in the forest, & I love a flat white from my local coffee shop.

I'm a deep thinker and someone who really cares about people and our world. I engage in community groups, love learning new things, and I usually find myself talking about all sorts of deep and funny topics fairly soon after meeting a person!

we’ll work well together if…

…you are looking for a genuine relationship with your therapist (I am someone who cares about you and acts like another human being!), you want to feel heard and be challenged in a direct but gentle way, and you are a deep or philosophical thinker who sometimes likes to skip the small talk and get right into things.

A woman with glasses and tattoos on her arm is sitting at a wooden table, reading a magazine about women with autism, in a cozy room with wooden shelves, potted plants, and dishes in the background.

In sessions, you’ll often find me also fidgeting, drawing, or colouring, wrapped in a blanket and sipping my favourite drink - and I will encourage you to get comfortable and join in.

values & ethics

Compassion and empathy – I listen to the voices of neurodivergent individuals and respond with empathy and compassion. I believe in community care, holistic wellbeing, and gentle and respectful neurodiversity-affirming work.

Congruence – I have an open and direct approach. This means I will be honest with you about what I can help you with, who I am and how you can help yourself.

Knowledge I am a specialist because I have: worked with a wide range of neurodivergent people in lots of settings, studied autism at a Master’s level and am autistic myself (lived experience). I deliver and believe in socially conscious and intersectional training courses. I love to learn and actively read and contribute to this field.

Disability and social justice – I think it is important to centre awareness, acceptance and support of disabled individuals. I have a specialist level of knowledge and experience of autistic individuals ‘across the spectrum’, who present in all different ways. This includes intersectionality with other identities and characteristics, and alignment within/between social justice movements

Balanced approach – I believe in approaching neurodivergent wellbeing from ‘all angles’ - counselling sessions, training, consultancy, research, activism, policy, access to services etc.

Lived experience – I am diagnosed autistic and identify as AuDHD (having autism and ADHD). I am also a queer person, and someone who listens to and is interested in the experiences of others with similar identities.
